TIRANA, June 2/ATA/ The Ministry of Defense reported that today at noon, in the village of New Darëzezë in Fier, there has been reactivated the fire in Darëzezë forest that was extinguished yesterday.
According to the report, 7 firefighting vehicles with 40 workers from the Fire Protection Department, a bulldozer and a fire engine are at the scene, but due to the sandy terrain and the big fire, the situation in the Darëzezë forest has not yet been brought under control.
At around 14:00, the fire has spread further and it has become impossible to intervene with firefighting vehicles.
In coordination with the Joint Operational Center, there has been sent even the Air Force Cougar helicopter in support for air intervention.
The flames have affected an area of about 10 hectares, while the wind is favoring the spread of the fire in the northern part of the forest. /a.f/p.s./
