Berisha in Parliament: May 11th, an electoral farce

TIRANA, May 29/ATA/ Following the Parliamentary elections of May 11, the Assembly convened today in plenary session. In his speech to the session, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha focused once again on denouncing what he called the “electoral farce”.

Berisha said that, “Crime world has brought 28 MPs into the Parliament”. Berisha stressed that, “The session is convened after the most shameful electoral farce, since the fall of the Iron Curtain in former communist Europe”.

According to Berisha, “There has taken place the most criminal electoral farce that the history of the country has ever known”.

“You have gathered here today because the clans of murderers, drug dealers, drug cartels, has succeeded to bring 28 MPs to this Parliament on closed and open lists. You have gathered here today at a time when you manipulated the first vote of the Albanian Diaspora in the most savage way”, said Berisha.

Berisha added after the session ended that, “The Parliament does not respect any rules of procedure, nor the constitution, nor the laws”.

“This happens while the Parliament has turned into a mafia basement. The Parliament does not respect any rule of procedure, nor the constitution, nor the laws. The Parliament is used as a private shop of the criminal party and this was one of the most shameful sessions where after an unprecedented electoral farce, instead of citizens hearing all the facts, the arguments of the opposition about what happened on May 11, they ran away within a few minutes. However, what I must guarantee the Albanians is the unwavering determination of the opposition to defend their just cause for a free vote”, Berisha said.

Asked by journalists about the opposition’s strategy, Berisha said that, “The opposition’s strategy is to represent the just cause of the Albanians for a free vote”.

“There is only one strategy; there is only one objective; the restore of the free vote of Albanians in the conditions of a narco-state completely dominated by the most powerful cartels in Europe,” Berisha said./a.f/p.s./
