TIRANA, May 6 /ATA/ Prime Minister and Socialist Party Chairman Edi Rama stated on Tuesday that Kavaja has been transformed beyond recognition and has overcome the long-standing history of neglect.
In his remarks during a meeting in Kavaja to present key achievements in major sectors and Albania’s 2030 EU integration challenges, Rama said, “As I’ve said before, we may not be the best, but those who are looking won’t find anyone better than us. And as for you who are here, you’re here because there’s no one better than you.”
“When Pandeli Majko asked me to speak about the campaign, he said: ‘I’m glad to be in Kavaja and Rrogozhina, but let me ask you—why?’ I told him: I’ll give you the answer one day. Today is the moment to give that answer. This boulevard didn’t exist when we took office. The city existed, but it wasn’t the city we see today—and every citizen of Kavaja, regardless of their political convictions, can attest to that,” Rama emphasized.
“I don’t think anyone, regardless of how upset they may be with us or with me, could deny that we pulled Kavaja out of the depth of underinvestment and contempt it was buried in. This neglect didn’t come from us, as Kavaja had never voted for us, but from those to whom Kavaja had given unwavering support for almost a quarter of a century,” the Prime Minister continued.
“Today, there is no place in Kavaja, no transformation that has made this city more appealing, more Mediterranean, more European, just like the entire region, that does not carry my stamp of approval and that of the Socialist Party for Kavaja,” said Rama.
