PRISHTINA, May 3 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s Assembly failed again for the tenth time to elect a new Speaker on Saturday.
In a secret vote, the ruling Vetvendosja’s candidate Albuena Haxhiu received 54 votes in favour, one against and one abstention, falling short of the required majority.
The opposition lawmakers boycotted the vote.
Avni Dehari, the session chair, suspended the session. The next parliamentary session is scheduled for Monday, but continued stalemate risks delaying government formation and legislative work.
