TIRANA, April 29 /ATA/ – Strengthening national security is mainly linked to the continued training and cooperation with the country’s strategic allies.
Minister of Defence Pirro Vengu said Tuesday a firing demonstration was practiced by an experienced squad at the Ground Force Training Center in the framework of a visit by U.S. Congress representatives.
The events included static exhibition of the armament, equipment and tools used by the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) and the Center for Defense against Weapons of Mass Destruction.
“The U.S. continued support by donating weapons and equipment is a cornerstone of the efforts to modernize and strengthen our operational capacities,” Defense Minister Vengu stated.
According to him, close Albania-U.S. partnership strengthens not only national defense, but also Albania’s contribution to the regional and global security.
