He underlined that the ruling Socialists draws strongest support from women voters, underlining that 56% of the SP’s support comes from women, rising to 65% in some districts.

“For this, we Albanian Socialists have all the reasons to be prouder than anyone else,” he said, adding the ruling party has delivered on a national and social obligation by expanding space for women’s participation in politics and all levels of decision-making process in Albania.

“SP membership was less than 15% when we embarked on this path, whereas their representation has grown to 40% now. However, we won’t stop until SP includes more than 50 000 female members,” Rama said, adding 52% of the candidates in SP’s closed list are women.
