TIRANA, April 11/ATA/ May 11 election campaign for the 2025 Parliamentary elections officially begins today.
There will be 11 parties and coalitions running in these elections. Each political force has 186 candidates for MPs, of which 46 are from the closed list and 140 from the open list.
The ruling Socialist Party is set to hold 12 meetings with women in all 12 regions of the country at the same time today at 5:00 PM, while on Saturday, April 12 at 12:00 PM, there will be an electoral meeting in Skanderbeg Square to open the campaign.
The Democratic Party in opposition will launch its campaign today at 7:00 PM at the Mother Teresa Square in Tirana, while on April 12, at 5:00 PM, this party will unveil its full electoral program at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana.
According to data generated by the General Directorate of Civil Status, there are 3,713,761 Albanian citizens, both inside and outside the country, eligible to vote in May 11, 2025 elections.
For the first time in the history of Parliamentary elections in the country, the electoral lists include two categories: voters living inside the country and voters living abroad.
In the May 11, 2025 elections, for the first time, Albanians living and working outside Albania will also be able to vote by mail following the amendments approved by the Parliament to the Electoral Code.
For this reason, from January 11 to March 4, there was held the registration process in the CEC’s PER system, during which there were approved 245,808 voters’ requests. /j.p/p.s./
