TIRANA, March 19 /ATA/ – The Cloud Festival in Tirana marks its 9th edition this year, an event offering a magical blend of tradition and modernity.
This edition will showcase a unique cultural journey, introducing us to rich traditions and contemporary innovations from around the world, in a series of performances for 11 consecutive nights at Reja (the Cloud), a modern art installation by renowned Japanese artist Sou Fujimoto placed in front of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana, Albania.
Just like in the previous editions, the Cloud Festival will offer a cultural and art journey; from Albania and the Balkan region to countries bordering the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean, Scandinavia, and Canada.
More than 100 artists from Azerbaijan, Mexico, Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, and many more will perform contemporary dance, performance art, music, spoken poetry, workshops, presentations, as well as festive shows featuring ensembles, orchestras, choirs, and DJs.
The performances at the Reja installation from May 21 to 31 will remain open to the public free of charge.
REJA or The Cloud Festival, hosted by the Municipality of Tirana, is an outdoor festival focusing especially on performance, movement, sound and all the in-between.
Reja (the Cloud), a modern art installation by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, has been placed in front of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana in January 2016. Since then, Reja became not only the biggest attraction and the most visited place in the city of Tirana but most importantly, an additional cultural asset functioning as an events venue with a rich cultural program, created in partnership with local, regional and international cultural and architectural organizations, and individuals.
