TIRANA, February 18/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that at the Agricultural University of Tirana there is being built a new academic reality through partnership with the Boku University of Vienna.
In his speech at the National Conference on Higher Education where the Higher Education Policy Document 2030 was presented, with the vision to align Albanian higher education standards with those of the European Union, Rama said that, “One of the best developments that we are experiencing is the progress at the Agricultural University.”
“The Agricultural University seemed doomed to remain like a province of the Albanian university world even because of the very low level of the students it gathered”, said Rama.
Thanks to the courage and commitment of the rector and the team there, we managed together to put the Agricultural University on a completely different trajectory, practically making it the place where a new academic reality is being built through partnership with the Boku University of Vienna and with the ambition that by 2030, the graduates of the Agricultural University in Tirana will be graduates of the BOKU in Vienna and vice versa. So, we have the ambition that students from Albania, the region and Europe will come to attend the Agricultural University of Tirana to receive the BOKU diploma the same like in Vienna.
Rama stated that this, “is quite possible; it is put on track and I am not saying this, the Austrian partners are saying it”.
Rama also took the opportunity to draw attention to the fact that the University of Shkodra should also move in the same direction. /r.e/a.f/p.s./
