PM Rama: Nobody can claim government controls justice system

TIRANA, Feb 11 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama stated Tuesday that nobody could claim that the government and the ruling Socialists are controlling judicial system in Albania.

“Only an idiot would claim that we control justice system,” the government head remarked at event marking the 105th anniversary of Tirana as capital city of Albania on Tuesday evening.

“An investigation into the life of Tirana Mayor is underway. I don’t know whether this is constitutional, but there is a reasonable doubt that this probe runs counter the Constitution of the Republic of Albania,” PM Rama said.

“Only an idiot, only a brazen-faced would claim that we haven’t granted justice system the entire independence it hasn’t had since the Albanian state declared independence in 1912,” PM Rama stated, adding that this “the big turning point in history of Albania to make sure that future generations are equal before law and nobody stands above the law.”
