CEC: 88% of vote counted, ruling LVV leads parliamentary elections in Kosovo

PRISHTINA, Feb 10 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s ruling Vetevendosje! or Self-Determination Movement Party leads in the parliamentary elections in the country.

With 88% of polling stations already counted, Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s LVV leads with 41.29%, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) at 21.83%, and the Democratic League of Kosov (LDK) at 17.75%, according to the latest updates provided by the country’s Central Election Commission on early Monday.

With 2230 of a total of 2533 polling stations now counted, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Nisma coalition secured 7.68%, while the Serbian minority party, Serbian List, received 3.96%.

The preliminary election results do not include the votes by the people with disabilities and the diaspora vote.

CEC announced that it will collect manually the data on the voting process from all the polling stations after technical delays due to server overload, slowing real-time updates.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi said in a press conference that failure to release data or the preliminary election results via the electronic platform doesn’t affect the results and reassured the public that the issue had no impact on vote integrity.
