Rama: New system based on artificial intelligence even in procurement field

TIRANA, February 4/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that there is work underway to establish a new system based on artificial intelligence in the field of public procurement.

“We are not satisfied. We are working on an artificial intelligence model for procurement, as well as for public services, so that we have a technological instrument to accomplish a process to a very large extent,” Rama said during the conference held in Tirana for the presentation of the OECD/SIGMA monitoring report.

According to him, this would make public procurement much more transparent, faster and create more opportunities for employees to deal with other matters.

“One should take into account how many procurement committees are established and how many people are involved in procurement committees, it is an entire army. You cannot ask them to know everything about the procurement process,” the prime minister emphasized.

Meanwhile, with the new system that is being built, he continued, there can be made an extraordinary step forward in a reasonable period of time.

“We are working intensively with the Microsoft. “We have ensured that the government has the copyright. Once we finish it, we can sell it to those who want to improve the procurement system, even to any EU country, if they ask us,” Rama said. /r.e/p.s./
