TIRANA, February 4 /ATA/ General Director of the State Police Ilir Proda participated in the annual work analyses meeting in the local police directorates of Elbasan and Korça.
Proda praised the work of the police in guaranteeing public order and security, as well as their maximum commitment to successfully cope with the summer tourist season.
Further on, the general director emphasized that the police should be equidistant from the political parties during the election campaign.
“Police officers must rigorously enforce the law and the obligations arising from it, guaranteeing order and security, as well as the smooth running of all electoral activities. The State Police has only one duty, to guarantee public order and security and enforce the law. Any police officer who is found not in compliance with these obligations stemming from the law on the State Police will be dismissed from the ranks of the State Police without any hesitation,” he said. /jp/p.s./
