TIRANA, Jan 24 /ATA/ – Mother Teresa Hospital Centre in Tirana has signed a partnership agreement with Sheba Medical Center, with one of the best hospitals worldwide with the most advanced medical services in Israel, to improve oncology service in Albania.
Addressing an event marking the launch of this crucial partnership in Tirana on Friday, Yoel Har-Even, Vice President of Global Affairs at Sheba Medical Center, underlined that “cooperation with Sheba Medical Centre is not just a project, but also a promise to assist Albania’s health sector as it moves towards improving oncology services, providing relief to the families and hope for the cancer patients.”
“We are committed to sharing our experience with your health professionals and learning from each other we are jointly building a cooperation bridge that would boost not only health care, but will also further strengthen ties between our two nations,” he remarked.
Dr. Yoel Har-Even also highlighted the fact that thousands of Jews were saved by Albanian people during the World War II.
“In three days’ time, we will mark the Holocaust Day. The Auschwitz extermination camp was liberated in 1945. There is an important principle embedded in the DNA of the Jews that is one of the reasons for our true survival and the resurrection of so many generations, to remember and not forget. To remember the past and to make sure that our present and future will be much better,” he said.
Har-Even stated that today’s agreement marks a significant step towards taking Oncology hospital forward, but also to share values of cooperation and commitment to the citizens’ health.
He underlied that Prime Minister Edi Rama’s vision has played crucial role in building and delivering on this partnership.
“The government’s commitment demonstrates an approach to creating an even stronger health system that provides access to advanced treatments and inspires the next generation of medical professionals. So we will support you,” Dr. Yoel Har-Even said.
