TIRANA, Jan 15 /ATA/ The Final Planning Conference for the FloodNorthALB project was held in Tirana on January 14 and 15. This key initiative seeks to address the complex flooding challenges in the Shkodra district and strengthen disaster response capacities in Albania and the Western Balkans region.
The conference was attended by the head of the National Civil Protection Agency, Haki Çako, along with several representatives from the agency. The event focused on readiness, cross-border cooperation, and improving procedures for emergency management.
The participants discussed the planning of joint exercises, logistical measures, and security, while also focusing on the importance of public and media relations in emergency situations.
Albania, as a new member of the EU Mechanism, is playing an important role in strengthening the regional civil protection system, contributing to building a safer future for its citizens. /j.p/sm/
