TIRANA, January 12 /ATA/ The registration process of Albanian emigrants living abroad and who want to participate in the May 11 general elections has already begun.
At the Central Election Commission portal, the section of out-of-the-country-vote, as of 09:00 in the morning, it is noted that 4191 Albanian nationals living abroad have applied to register as voters. Of these, 145 requests have been approved. According to the published statistics, there are 3165 males or 75.52% of the total, and 1026 females or 24.48% of the total.
The highest requests are from Albanians living in Italy. Next are Albanian emigrants in Germany, Greece, the USA…etc.
A CEC staff works in 3 shifts to respond to requests, informing them of successful completion or rejection.
Applications close on March 4, 2025. On May 11, Albanians will head to the polls to elect a new Parliament. /p.s./
