Rama: Funding allocated for integrating land registry with technology system, fighting endemic corruption

TIRANA, Dec 30 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Monday that endemic corruption has been the most corrosive tumor for the country, while stressing that the completion of the project for integrating the land registry with the technology system is the final piece in the digital services puzzle.

In his year-end conference with journalists, Prime Minister Rama stated that the fight against corruption is a battle for the modernization of the state.
“It is not a fight of just one segment or another, but a battle for the entire state system. Albania has faced its greatest challenge and most corrosive tumor—endemic corruption—at every level, for every matter, and for every document,” said Rama.
According to the Prime Minister, “today the situation is completely different, and only one final piece of this mosaic remains to definitely close the Ottoman era of the transactional culture between the citizen and the state.”

“This marks the completion of the project to integrate the land registry with the technology system. I say completion because a large portion of the Cadastre is already digitized, allowing online applications today, but there is still another part that needs to be integrated with the system,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister noted that special funds have been allocated and teams have been engaged for this highly complex task, which requires extensive personnel on the ground.

“On the other hand, I want to highlight that the evaluation of public services is widely recognized internationally. It is not merely my assessment or ours, but an international evaluation reflected in all rankings regarding the enhancement of service capacities. In this context, Albania ranks at the top of these tables,” said Rama.
