TIRANA, Dec 28 /ATA/The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said on Saturday that Erion Veliaj has gone in an unknown direction.
In a media statement, Berisha said, “After being officially informed of a series of charges, punishable from 20 to 35 years in prison, Veliaj left the country this morning.”
“Multiple reports suggest that Erion Veliaj, the true co-owner of the Tirana incinerator that is missing, of the fictional 1 million tree forest, and the epitome of 100% 5D theft, left the country at 5:15 AM today after being officially informed about a series of charges that are punishable from 20 to 35 years in prison. While there are rumours he is headed to the USA, his actual destination remains unknown,” Berisha stated.
Berisha appealed for the return of Erion Veliaj to Tirana as soon as possible.
“I strongly condemn this egregious affair. I remind the Albanian citizens that Erion Veliaj was summoned at least three times for hours of questioning at SPAK, and during the last time, he was confronted with documents he believed no one knew about. In the last instance, he was confronted with statements from his wife and brother, which incriminated him in a fatal manner. During the final meeting, Erion Veliaj was presented with documents and bank accounts, which are just the tip of the iceberg of the stolen money. All the evidence indicates that the largest deposits are in Dubai,” Berisha stated.
