TIRANA, December 3/ATA/ The Municipality of Tirana has proposed a new social housing project, designating two new properties as development areas. The entire project will be financed by the social housing fund.
Mayor Veliaj stated that the new area where there will be implemented the social housing project has all the necessary services nearby.
“It is about dividing a property that is owned by the Municipality of Tirana, to dedicate a part of it to social housing. The Municipality of Tirana has collected a social housing fund, which we are ready to invest in. It is about the area between the Big Ring Road and “Hamdi Pepa” Street”, stressed Veliaj.
Mayor Veliaj stated that, “In the meantime, we can use the first floor for shops and the other floors to accommodate people. We have done all the procedures to obtain the status from the Housing Authority and we think that if we get the consent of the municipal council, it is an ideal area for social housing”.
Veliaj also said that, “This area is accessible, both by car, bus, bus station, an area that also has schools nearby. We have just built the “June 1” school, while we are preparing for other new schools”. /k.s/r.e/a.f/p.s./
