USAID is providing assistance to enhance competitiveness in agriculture

TIRANA, Nov 23 /ATA/ The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing assistance to enhance competitiveness in agriculture, as an important step for the sector’s development, including in the international market.

As part of the “Global Entrepreneurship Week,” coordinated by Start Up Albania, USAID, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Tirana, organized an open discussion at UBT’s premises with students and stakeholders, focusing on how agribusiness can advance in both the Albanian and international markets.

The meeting brought together students, agribusinesses, and entrepreneurs, who discussed EU standards, new technologies, and the potential of agricultural products such as olive oil, wines, and medicinal aromatic plants.

Through one of its projects supporting agriculture, USAID is helping Albanian products meet the demands of the EU market. It will also assist Albania in aligning with the EU’s requirements.

“Together with Albanian producers, we can further enhance the quality of Albania’s agriculture and bring Albania one step closer to EU integration,” emphasized Dina Karic, head of USAID’s “Compete SeBashku” project.

The meeting continued with inspiring success stories from young entrepreneurs dedicated to agriculture, the presentation of new ideas in the agricultural sector as well as sharing the results of the “Mentimeter” survey on high-quality Albanian agri-food products, conducted during the “Global Entrepreneurship Week.”
