TIRANA, November 19/ATA/ During her speech in the Assembly on the draft budget for next year, Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku criticized the socialist government for the budget distribution.
Tabaku said that today, unfortunately, Albanians live with the remittances that have reached 1 billion euros per year. The DP MP further emphasized that 53% of the government budget today goes for concessions.
“Albania has a pension scheme that cannot cope with the burden. The government promised a 5% increase in pensions per year, but did not do it for 11 years. Today, unfortunately, Albanians live with remittances that have reached 1 billion euros per year”.
MP Tabaku presented the DP’s vision for a fairer and more sustainable economy. Tabaku announced that next week they will present 19 amendments that affect the main sectors. The DP MP also underlined that the country needs a new economic model.
“There will be a reorganization of spending, a balance between the north and the south. Today, the budget needs to support all Albanians equally. The budget supports discrimination which must stop. The budget needs to give breath to small businesses, as this budget focuses only on 200 businesses, economic operators that receive public money. Albania needs breath even in small towns. At present-day, it needs a different vision for the budget”, said Tabaku. /a.f/p.s./
