TIRANA, Nov 12 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ The Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs, Jorida Tabaku, stated on Tuesday that the 2025 draft budget does not reflect a good part of the priorities arising from the country’s negotiating position.
During the hearing session in the committee with the Chief Negotiator, Majlinda Dhuka, Tabaku expressed concern about the slow pace of legislation alignment.
“I have been confronted for several years with the rhetoric that legislative alignment is a priority, but the only change compared to previous years in this committee is that 8 acts have been reviewed out of 12. This doesn’t seem like a good pace to me,” said Tabaku.
Tabaku expressed that she does not see reflected in the budget the momentum for reforms or the commitment of the state to advance the opening of EU accession negotiations.
Tabaku requested information from the Chief Negotiator on whether the Albanian government is planning a restructuring of the institutions that manage EU funds, as well as of the Brussels Mission, to get up to speed with the new reality of the opening of negotiations.
