TIRANA, Nov 3 /ATA/ The economic advisor to the Democratic Party, Dorian Teliti, stated on Sunday that “the 2025 draft budget does not address the pressing issues facing our society, such as depopulation, poverty, unemployment, youth and labor force emigration, and the bankruptcy of businesses.”
In a media statement from the DP headquarters, Teliti said that the government has just presented the draft budget for 2025 to the Assembly of Albania.
“The budget for the coming year, like every budget in these past 11 years, can be likened to a feast for the senior officials and crumbs for the Albanian people.”
He stated that, “even though we are the country with the highest taxes in the region, even though progressive taxation has stifled society, and although all stakeholders have called for tax reductions and streamlining of bureaucratic procedures, these appeals continue to fall on deaf ears. The government does not foresee any reduction in the fiscal burden or any procedural relief for them.”
On the contrary, he added, “the additional cost of the fiscal burden for next year is 93 million euros.”
