TIRANA, October 30/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the government is working on building such a scheme that includes pensioners at any percentage of economic growth, beyond the government’s projection.
As part of the tour of meetings with pensioners, this time in Durrës, Rama stated today that one of the schemes is the allocation of a second bonus, apart from the one at Christmas.
According to him, the 50-euro bonus provided at the end of the year for each pensioner is not enough today.
The prime minister explained that pensions cannot be paid from taxes, as the rules stipulate that taxes should be used for investments and services.
“Social insurance is for the pensioners, taxes are for making investments and services to citizens, schools, hospitals, roads, state services, to keep the troops standing that serve everyone”, said Rama.
Further on, Rama said that the government’s plan to increase pensions focuses on the fight against informality in the declaration of salaries. In addition, he emphasized, the government will increase its share from the budget.
He said that today, the real salary in Albania is much higher than what is declared.
The prime minister also appealed to small businesses to declare real wages and pay social and health insurance.
“There is no country in the Balkans or beyond, in Europe, where small business has zero tax. The state does not take a single penny from the small business for profit or for VAT. We ask the small business to pay social and health insurance. Not paying for your pension tomorrow is unimaginable,” he said./r.e/a.f/p.s./
