Improving quality of on-site social services

TIRANA, Oct 19 /ATA/ UNDP is working to strengthen collaboration and share information and know-how to enhance professional skills.

As part of the joint UN program “Leave No One behind,” funded by Switzerland, UNDP organized a 3-day workshop for social workers from ten municipalities, focusing on volunteerism and the benefits it brings to the communities they serve.

The training was delivered by professors from the University of Social Work in Lucerne (HSLU) in Switzerland. They emphasized that volunteerism is not just an additional resource but a vital element of effective social work.

The group plans to continue these discussions and share their practices at a conference next year, supported by the “Leave No One Behind” program.

The “Leave No One Behind” program is working in several municipalities across the country to increase access to services for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, Roma, and Egyptians, as well as to empower these groups to have a voice in the decision makings that impact their lives. /j.p/sm/
