TIRANA, October 16/ATA/ Albania’s ambassador to the European Union Ferit Hoxha called a historic moment the opening of negotiations between Albania and the EU for the first cluster.
In an interview for “Report TV”, Hoxha said that Albania-EU relations will no longer be the same.
Ambassador Hoxha emphasized that Albania has opened the EU door and this is an unstoppable advance for integration into the Union.
“Since yesterday, we have entered a different process, the relationship with the EU will not be the same, not only funding, but better, formal, unstoppable channeling of Albania’s advance into the European Union. Nothing that has happened before on the political level is comparable to what happened yesterday. We opened the doors of Europe yesterday”, said Ambassador Hoxha.
He expressed confidence that, within the current year, Albania can hold another intergovernmental conference with the EU for the opening of several other clusters.
“We have a detailed working plan from the Chief Negotiator and her team. We have to coordinate this work plan with the European Commission. I am confident that we will have at least one more conference before the end of the year, where we can open several more chapters of another cluster”, said Hoxha.
The ambassador emphasized that work will now begin at the technical level for the progress of the first cluster with the assistance and monitoring of the European Commission. /r.e/a.f/p.s./
