TIRANA, Oct 2 /ATA/ Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Taulant Balla, on Thursday deliberated on the process to be applied in the 2025 elections for diaspora vote.
In a televised interview, Balla stated that guaranteeing the vote for fellow countrymen living outside Albania rectifies an historical mistake and fulfils the long -awaited commitment to emigrants.
“We have finally rectified a historical mistake, and fulfilled a commitment Albania and its decision-making institutions have made to citizens living outside the territory. We owed it to all those citizens who enjoy the same right to vote as compatriots living in Albania to express themselves through vote for the political force that want to govern them. Albania is part of a group of countries that have a large diaspora,” Balla said.
Balla, who is also the political leader of the SP for Diaspora, assured that the voting process by mail is a model applied by all developed countries in the West.
He added that all procedures will be followed in order for the vote of Albanian immigrants to be counted by the CEC without its security being undermined.
