Noka: Opposition will not back down; technical government is needed to ensure free elections

TIRANA Sept 30 /ATA/ The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, stated on Monday that what unfolded in the regular plenary session, the acts of blocking the podium and setting fire to the chairs, will perpetuate in Parliament every day. He added that a technical government is the solution for Albania to move forward and hold free elections.

In a media statement after the brief plenary session, Noka said that they are in Parliament to fulfil their mission entrusted by the Democrats.

“Rama attempted to weed us out as a political force, by arresting the leader of the Democrats, threatening the leaders of the Freedom Party and the Republican Party with imprisonment, and now he has imprisoned the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group. He threatens anyone who speaks out for the public interest with jail,” he said.

Noka stated that the opposition is determined not to back down.

“We will not give up. Rama should forget about weeding the opposition out. The opposition is at the forefront of the action we have started. It will be at the forefront of the civic action on Monday. Albanians do not deserve to be ruled by a narcotic regime. Those in government are not worthy of representing the citizens. We will stand up for them,” Noka declared.

He emphasized that there would be no compromise.

“There is no compromise with the mafia, with corruption. We are in a battle; a technical government is the solution for Albania to move forward and hold free elections,” he said.
