Banjska attack, MEFA: Justice must be served without delays and excuses

TIRANA, Sept 24 /ATA/ The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs stated on Tuesday that justice must be served without delays and excuses for the murder of Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku a year ago in a terrorist attack committed by the Serbian armed group in Banjska.

“Paying tribute to the sacrifice of Afrim Bunjaku, Albania supports Kosovo in its efforts for the establishment of the rule of law throughout the territory of the country. It is unacceptable that the perpetrators of this crime are still at large,” the MEFA emphasizes in a post on social media.

The MEFA states that “Albania welcomes the decision of the Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office to file an indictment against the suspects for organizing and carrying out this brutal attack. Accountability is a key element for preventing escalations and consolidating peace throughout the region.”

On September 24, 2023, a group of armed Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police in the village of Zveçan, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku.
