TIRANA, September 18 /ATA/ The government approved today the annual indexation of pensions at the rate of 4.1%. Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja gave the news during a briefing after the government meeting.
Gonxhja said that 791,257 pensioners will benefit from this decision and the indexation starts with the payments of October 2024.
“Starting from October 1, 2024, the pensions will be indexed by 4.1% based on INSTAT’s calculation of the average annual index of the month of August 2024 for basket goods for the pensioners”, said Gonxhja.
According to him, “About 791,257 beneficiaries who receive full pensions, partial pensions, reduced pensions and early old-age pensions, disability pensions, family pensions will benefit from the increase in pensions provided for in this decision”.
“In context of this decision, the amount of social pension also increases from 9,327 ALL per month to 9,710 ALL per month.
The financial effects for implementation of this decision are calculated in the amount of 1,693,000,000 (one billion six hundred and ninety-three million) ALL, which are borne by the fund for pension indexation policies, provided for in the budget of the Institute of Social Insurances, concluded Gonxhja. /a.f/p.s./
