Denaj: Cooperation with Slovenia on alignment of legislation with EU

TIRANA, Aug 23 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj ,is on an official visit to Slovenia on Friday.

Minister Denaj and her Slovenian counterpart Mateja Calusi signed a Memorandum of Understanding, the first of its kind in the field of agriculture development.

Ministers Denaj and Calusi highlighted the very good relations between the two countries and expressed the common will to expand and deepen them in the field of agriculture.

Minister Denaj stressed that the agreement signed on Friday aims at intensifying the assistance with expertise that our country will receive from Slovenia, taking into account the process of aligning the legislation, preparing Albanian businesses to compete in EU markets.

“Slovenia has almost the same problems as Albania in terms of fragmentation, with small land plots, problems of cooperative agriculture, but they have managed over the years to increase the area, because it is the only opportunity to increase the scale, increase automation, reduce costs and guarantee quality. I believe it is an example to be followed by us while navigating our challenges of agriculture development”, stated Minister Denaj.
