TIRANA, August 13/ATA/ In the local foreign currency exchange market, the euro has recorded the lowest level versus the Lek in recent years.
According to the official data of the Bank of Albania, the euro is exchanged at 99.86 Lekë, falling below the level of 100 Lekë where it was positioned during the last months.
The Swiss franc has also registered a decline, while the British pound has strengthened by 0.38 Lekë.
The Bank of Albania intervention in the market buying euros, although at a greater amount than last year, seem to have been unable to keep the euro above the level of 100 Lekë.
But, the pressures of the season are stronger this year. This is also confirmed by the figures of foreign tourists only during the first part of the year.
