TIRANA, August 1/ATA/ The government approved today some changes in the “Doctors Order” in the Republic of Albania.
Speaking to reporters after the government meeting, Minister of Health and Social Protection Albana Koçiu said that, “The main goal is to guarantee service quality in our health structures for all citizens, for all patients who go to public health structures” .
Minister Koçiu said that, “The changes consist in making public and transparent information for all working health professionals in public structures in regard to their private commitments”.
Meanwhile, Koçiu continued, there is approved a public electronic registry, which will guarantee even more transparency for any health professional who works in public health structures regarding his private employment.
Minister Koçiu emphasized that, “We have also set a ceiling on working hours that a doctor working in the public sector can engage and work privately”.
“Meanwhile, we have made clear the procedures for disciplinary measures and the relevant structures which will regulate the activity even more of all health professionals working in the public sector. All these changes come in the wake of the most important reform, which is that of Hospital Autonomy, a reform which we strongly believe will completely change the way the service is provided in health care. It will bring closer and make more qualitatively the service that the public health structures offer to the citizens and will undoubtedly increase even more and improve the good management of hospitals and the good management of health professionals”, said the Minister of Health and Social Protection Albana Koçiu. /k.s/p.s./
