TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ – The Minister of Finance Ervin Mete announced Friday that fiscal stamps serviced will be transferred to the General Tax Administration next year, saying that the move will lead to lower tariffs and will ease the financial burden on the business community.
Addressing lawmakers at the final parliament session before the summer recess, Finance Minister clarified that legal amendments are envisaged to remove the concessionaire’s prerogatives from the excise law.
“Given that the concession contract ends on December 31, required changes have been made to transfer the service to the state and the concessionary and the related procedures are removed from the excise law and the law now stipulates that the fiscal stamps are now a state monopoly and the Council of Ministers will task an authorized public legal entity to produce and distribute fiscal stamps,” Finance Minister Mete said.
Mete noted that the goal was to provide lower fees when the state takes over this service, which we believe will benefit the business community.
A day ago, Finance Minister also announced that the fuel marking concession will not be renewed next month. The service, designed to ensure fuel quality and prevent smuggling, will now be transferred to the General Directorate of Customs.
