TIRANA, July 24/ATA/ Head of the Euro-Atlantic Democrats Lulzim Basha submitted today to the Assembly the amendment that foresees the 100% open lists in elections.
In a press conference, Basha said that this amendment will be one of the tests to enable the Euro-Atlantic Democrats to compete with a 100% open list.
He also said that, “The battle will continue together with the Euro-Atlantic political forces that cannot accept the closed lists”.
“I have officially submitted to the Parliament of Albania the amendment that provides for completely open lists. This amendment enables a political force not to be forced to submit a closed list, but to be able to submit an open multi-name list”, he said.
Basha emphasized that the amendment aims for the MPs to be elected name by name, certainly respecting gender quotas by citizens and not by party leaders. /m.m/r.e/p.s./
