Germany hands over new documentation software to Albania’s High Court

TIRANA, July 15 /ATA/ – German Ambassador in Tirana, Karl Bergner, attended the official handover ceremony of the new documentation software to Albania’s High Court on Monday.

With the support of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), the basis was laid for another important step towards a more efficient and transparent justice system.

The German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation has been assisting Albanian High Court in the efforts to establish a documentation department since 2021.

In addition to technical discussions and study trips, a special case law database was also developed and made available.

With the new judiciary database, the court decisions can now be better documented and easier to access, helping not only in promoting the rule of law, but also strengthen citizens’ trust in the judiciary.

“The project is funded by the German government and implemented by the IRZ. Germany will continue to support the consistent implementation of judicial reforms and the further strengthening of the independent judiciary. This is in the interest of the citizens of Albania and is a central building block for Albania’s path to the European Union,” German Embassy in Tirana said in a release.
