U.S. Embassy warns of fraudulent scheme

TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/ – The U.S. Embassy in Albania issued a warning about a fraudulent scheme on Thursday, urging Albanian citizens to be wary of scams.

The Embassy said in a statement that “Let’s Talk Together About US24” group has no affiliation with the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Education, our educational programs, or Embassy personnel.

“The U.S. State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service will continue to work with the Albanian State Police as it investigates the extent of this fraudulent scheme,” the U.S. Embassy said.

The U.S. Embassy urges all Albanians to be cautious of such scams and to contact the embassy if they suspect someone or an organization is misrepresenting themselves as affiliated with the Embassy.
