TIRANA, May 27 /ATA/ The Director of the Institute of Statistics, Elsa Dhuli, stated on Monday that the main results of the Census conducted in 2023 will be published on June 28
During the presentation of the annual report for 2023, Dhuli said that INSTAT will publish in October a platform with all the data collected from census up to the municipality level.
“After the publication in June of the main results, we will move ahead with the production of indicators up to the municipality level. There will be a much more detailed number of indicators. In October, we are expected to publish the detailed results, setting up the platform where all the results of the Census will be published on the INSTAT website,” said Dhuli.
She noted that the Census data will also be published on the EUROSTAT website.
“Even though Albania is not yet a member of the European Union, it is INSTAT’s obligation to publish the main results of the Census within 2024”, she emphasized.
The population and housing census began in the entire territory on September 18, 2023 , a process that will serve not only to read the present, but also to project the future of Albania. Counting lasted 6 weeks.
The census is carried out once every 10 years and aims to provide the Parliament, the government, local governments and civil society with reliable statistical information necessary for the planning and implementation of general development policies, for scientific research, as well as for the understanding of the demographic, economic and social reality of the country.
