Karabina: Number of university graduates recorded an annual decrease of 13.8% last year

TIRANA, May 23 /ATA/ The DP spokesperson, Mirela Karabina, referring to INSTAT data, says that in the academic year 2022-2023, 13,808 students graduated in the first study level which is equivalent to “bachelor” degree, with an annual decrease of 13.8%.

“Edi Rama-run party, which has been in government for 11 years, has had enough time to undertake impactful reforms in education and deliver results, but it has not shown political will to rectify the situation,” Karabina said in a post on social media.

According to her, education, which is a basic public service, has been weaponized by the government only for the purpose of propaganda which has been detrimental to the Albanian families, society and the country.

“Out of nearly 30,000 high school graduates in 2023, 10,000 of them applied for studies abroad, i.e. 1/3 of them. This mass exodus is irreversible and this government does not want to stop it. “Due to this rate of students and young people leaving, the country’s economy will soon face a shortage of specialists in various fields and the country’s development will slow down,” she said.
