TIRANA, May 13 /ATA/ Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Ana Kapaj, emphasized on Monday that the Albanian government has committed 165,600 dollars in financial support for students who will win scholarships for the “Fulbright” academic exchange program between Albania and the USA.
In her remarks at the Foreign Policy Committee meeting, which discussed the draft law “On the Ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding, between the Government of the Republic of Albania (Council of Ministers) and the Government of the United States of America, for the academic exchange program “Fulbright,” Kapaj emphasized that “this agreement has a long history. It is an agreement that dates back to 1945, which includes about 155 countries worldwide. The beneficiaries of this agreement with the USA are students, academic staff and scientific researchers.
“This agreement that we are presenting today is a renewal of the 2019 agreement that had a time line of 5 years. Several students and academic staff have benefited from this 2019 agreement. The Albanian government is committed to support student scholarships, with 1 to 2-year scholarships offered to Albanian students at the master’s level,” underlined Kapaj.
The “Fulbright” exchange program is an added value in strengthening cooperation with the strategic partner, the USA, in the field of education, science and research.
