TIRANA, May 9 /ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, said on Thursday, referring to the results of the elections in North Macedonia, that the common future is the European Union.
According to him, the result achieved by Albanians in North Macedonia is a historic result for the future of coexistence between ethnicities, religions and cultures in harmony and mutual respect.
“I hail the historic result of the Albanians in the May 8, 2024 elections in North Macedonia. For all of us, the present has only one common denominator: coexistence between ethnicities, religions and cultures in harmony and mutual respect. The future moves only in one direction: towards the European Union and the family of democratic countries,” Hasani writes in a post on social media.
In the elections in North Macedonia, VMRO DPMNE was declared the winner both in the runoff for the head of state and in the elections for the new Parliament.
Among the Albanian parties, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) secured 18 seats. The coalition of the Albanian opposition, VLEN, secured 13 seats, while the others were divided between the Left party and the ZNAM movement.
