TIRANA, May 9 /ATA/ The Chief Negotiator and Minister of State, Majlinda Dhuka stated on Thursday that the support of the European Union for the Western Balkans is increasing. This is an expression of a strong will for the dynamics of progress.”
In her remarks at the event organized as part of Europe Day by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs “Europe at home,” Dhuka spoke about the EU growth plan.
“It is a historic moment, all countries are in talks with the European Union. What’s different about the growth plan? It is an instrument similar to another instrument that the EU has previously mentioned as the reconstruction and residency plan for member countries,” said Dhuka.
Dhuka said that “the EU works on the basis of a cycle of growth programs 2021-2027.”
“Being a member of the EU means that our societies live in relatively similar conditions. The main objective is to increase the standards so that they are comparatively similar between our citizens and EU citizens,” underlined Dhuka.
According to her, the growth plan is an incentive to increase twofold the economic growth rates of our countries, because the gap between the standards is still existent.
“The EU is an engine of solidarity and mitigation of differences and inequality. This is one of the unique values of the EU, aspirations are aligned with social development and solidarity. Why is it a new accelerating movement? Because we have the opportunity to be a part of EU developments even before we are members,” Dhuka said.
