U.S. Embassy in Tirana sees SP draft resolution as promising proposal

TIRANA, May 8 /ATA/ – The United States Embassy in Tirana commented Wednesday on a draft resolution on good governance and anti-corruption tabled by the Prime Minister Edi Rama a day ago and the invitation to opposition to back the resolution in parliament.

In a statement for the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA), the U.S. Embassy said it viewed the draft resolution as a promising proposal, calling for participation of Albanians who wish to improve the country’s future.

“The proposal to take forward Albania’s good governance, rule of law and anti-corruption efforts is promising. As Albania’s long-standing partner, the United States praises efforts that build on the success of previous reforms while bringing together political groups, civil society, business and others to advance critical reforms for Albania’s path to EU and Euro-Atlantic membership.

We encourage the participation of all Albanians, who aim to improve the future of Albania and we look forward to seeing the results of a transparent and collaborative process,” press service at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana told ATA.
