Rama: Fight against corruption started frontally with our effort for justice reform

TIRANA, May 8/ATA/ During yesterday’s address to the Parliamentary group and the Cabinet on governance, law, corruption and the new national initiative for Albania 2030, Prime Minister Edi Rama focused on the Justice Reform.

Today, in a post in the social media, the prime minister highlighted the part of the speech where he talks about the fight against corruption.

“The duration of the state and society all-round confrontation with corruption, as an alternative to the state, depends on how and how much democratic state-making is strengthened with reforms, relies on the necessary legislation, develops with the creation of the necessary institutional mechanisms, expands on the map of the public life, at all levels of coexistence between the citizens of the state and extends to all roads that guarantee the protection of public and private interests”, said Rama.

Even though the classic transition stage of our country is closed, Rama emphasized, “Albania had its own completely original transition, compared to other countries because of the Ottoman mentality of giving something in exchange for something else and into the democratic culture of respect for the law and the institutions. This original misfortune was the fact that Albania was put for a long, long time, under the pressure of a public life hindered and influenced like nowhere else by a certain communist tribal spirit of a political segment that embodied anti-communism”.

Therefore, added the head of the government, “Even the war against corruption has actually started properly, frontally, with reforms, we also started our effort for Justice Reform”./p.s./
