TIRANA, May 8/ATA/ Interior Minister Taulant Balla stated today that during the current year, 2024, we should deal the final blow to the phenomenon of cultivation, production and trafficking of cannabis.
Balla reacted in this way following the police operation carried out today by Gjirokastra Police against a group of production and trafficking of narcotics.
In a post on social networks, Balla, publishing a video from the police operation.
“The State Police continues to attack criminal groups involved in the cultivation/production of narcotics. Congratulations to Gjirokastra Police Directorate for the operation during which there was discovered an apartment made suitable for the cultivation of cannabis,” wrote Balla.
“During 2023, there were hit 28 criminal groups active in the field of cultivation; there were carried out 171 police operations, there were destroyed 293,047 cannabis sativa narcotic plants and 273 citizens detained and charged. In this context, in 2024 we should deal the final blow to the phenomenon of cultivation, production and trafficking of cannabis”, concluded Balla./a.f/p.s./
