TIRANA, May 6 /ATA/ – Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said that communication among the authorities to clarify every procedure is always a must in a city where thousands of development projects are launched and finalized.
In an interview for Top News, Mayor Veliaj said that such cooperation was once seen as a taboo, while it is a completely normal conduct now.
“I have publicly called for official cooperation with the Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Prosecution Structure (SPAK) to provide any documents, information from a party that has no complex of whatsoever, but on the contrary is proud of a clean Tirana and that has always voiced full readiness to cooperate. This is normal conduct,” Veliaj said.
Veliaj accused the opposition of continued refusal and assaults against the new justice bodies in the country.
“What should draw our attention are those who refuse to cooperate, who refuse to report at SPAK and who attack the justice bodies,” Veliaj said.
Tirana Mayor rejected as lies the speculations over his alleged meeting with Shkelzen Berisha, the son of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
