Assembly’s session closes as suspended opposition MPs blocked rostrum

TIRANA, February 5/ATA/ Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla interrupted the proceedings of the plenary session after the suspended opposition MPs entered the plenary session hall by force.

The Assembly convened today at around 17:00 to discuss the problems encountered in the electoral zones, at the end of the “green week”, where the MPs held meetings on the ground.

The 19 opposition MPs, suspended from the proceedings of the Assembly due to violations during the previous sessions, clashed with the National Guard officers outside the Assembly hall, in an attempt to enter the hall.

After pushing their way by force into the hall of the plenary sessions, the suspended MPs applied again the same blocking scenario of the Assembly’s proceedings with loudspeakers while getting lined up in front of the Assembly’s rostrum, thus preventing the normal process of the session./p.s./

Therefore, the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla closed the proceedings of the plenary session, unable to continue it normally. /m.m/p.s./
