TIRANA, January 30 /ATA/ President of the Republic Bajram Begaj stated today that, “The “Balkan Cities Network” initiative is a serious commitment for regional cooperation and sustainable development.
In his speech at the “B40 Balkan cities network” summit, Begaj said that, “This initiative constitutes an added value in our relations, because it creates opportunities for cooperation at the local level. Your network has every opportunity to set an example of success for a sustainable and comprehensive future”.
He added that many of the participating cities are important global actors, both in the economy and in other important spheres.
“Our cities in the twenty-first century must be more than economic and industrial centers. They should be, first of all, spaces where the well-being of the individual is a priority, where harmony with the environment is not an option, but a necessity. Let’s learn from each other, exchange experiences and build cooperation projects that yield concrete results in improving the lives of our citizens”, concluded Begaj./p.s./
