TIRANA, Jan 24 /ATA/ The DP Secretary General and Co-Chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission in the Assembly, Enkelejd Alibeaj, responded to the claims of the “Reestablishment” Commission for the restructuring of the Electoral Reform Commission.
Alibeaj, in a post on social media, emphasizes that the Electoral Reform Commission is not a place to stage shows. He adds that all opposition streams are well represented in that commission and that the rules cannot change every time an MP changes his position.
“The Electoral Reform Commission is not the place for political show, even in search of the path of hope. Being in opposition is not like a certificate that anyone can hand out. The rules of the game have been set since the reform process kicked off,” Alibeaj writes.
Alibeaj underlines that the Democratic Party is determined to advance the work of the electoral reform commission to implement its four demands.
“As DP has done so far, to protect the interests of Albanian citizens and fair elections: with open lists, Albania 1 constituency, vote for the diaspora and electronic voting and counting. The rules do not change every time an MP changes his position. DP stands firm on electoral reform for Albanians!”, Alibeaj says.
