TIRANA, January 22 /ATA/ The work has got underway on digitization of over 400 objects qualified as cultural property and which have been seized during different police operations.

Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja gave the news of the beginning of works. According to him, the laboratory will serve for the digitization of cultural heritage objects seized during joint operations with the state police and it will also serve for digitization of objects that are subject to restoration and at present are found in museums and archeological sites.

“The implementation of advanced technology, RTI and 3D methods, in the National Unit for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage, a project supported by Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) “Empowering museums through technology”, offers the opportunity not only for a better documentation of objects, but helps in the in-depth identification of elements, hidden details or their origin while preserving the digital identity of the cultural heritage”, said Gonxhja. /p.s./
